GNEM at Battery Show South

Georgia Network for Electric Mobility Strategic Lead, Gabrielle Pierre will join other representatives from GNEM in speaking during the Advancing Electrification Across Georgia and the Southeast session of The Battery Show South on April 16, 2025. This panel discussion features several members of GNEM and provides attendees with an inside look into the organization, its focus and the work its partners are doing to help position the southeast as the leading ecosystem for electric mobility.

UGA hosts fourth annual Electric Mobility Summit

More than 200 leaders from industry, government and education gathered in Athens for the fourth annual University of Georgia Electric Mobility Summit on March 13 at the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. Organized by the Georgia Network for Electric Mobility, the summit highlighted collaborative opportunities to support electric and future mobility adoption and to meet the demands of this growing sector in Georgia and beyond.

AMP at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference

AMP’s Mike Oatridge and Brad Whisenant attended the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) in Las Vegas. They shared how AMP is leading Alabama’s role in the EV Battery Belt through applied research and workforce programs.

Kia commits $1M to UGA’s e-mobility initiative

“The University of Georgia is thrilled to partner with Kia on our electric mobility initiative,” UGA President Jere W. UGA Presidential Cluster Hiring Initiative in E-Mobility

The University of Georgia has launched a cluster hiring initiative to recruit 10 faculty members with expertise in the rapidly developing technological field of electric mobility. This cluster hire is part of UGA’s Georgia Network for Electric Mobility initiative to enhance research, education and outreach opportunities related to e-mobility. Partners in the Georgia Network for Electric Mobility include faculty, staff and students from the College of Engineering, the School of Public and International Affairs, the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the Terry College of Business.

Nobel Prize Winner Bob Galyen Visits AMP Center and Alabama’s Growing EV Ecosystem 

AMP was honored to host Bob Galyen, renowned battery expert and Nobel Prize winner, during his recent visit to Alabama and the AMP Center at The University of Alabama! During his time with us, Bob toured our newly established AMP offices, the soon-to-open National Training Center, the developing Power Lab, and the future home of our Battery Lab.
