ADVANCING A
DOMESTIC VALUE CHAIN
FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Over the next two years, our team will lay the foundation on which to establish an innovative supply chain ecosystem where everyone can confidently and effectively participate in activities that advance transportation electrification. Our hope is that by 2035, this tri-state area will house a robust manufacturing, supplier, and consumer economy and serve as an innovation hub for EV technology.

To accomplish this, we will:

  • Identify technical expertise needed to advance the EV sector through an initial set of use-inspired research activities that have the potential to yield translational outcomes
  • Build capacity to educate a capable EV workforce by identifying workforce development activities across the ecosystem
  • Engage key partners across the EV ecosystem and solidify their commitment through interim agreements
  • Establish a long-term, visionary, leadership team representative of the region we’re serving
  • Build capacity to identify seed funding by developing a business model that synchronizes the EV value chain for participants across the ecosystem

ANTICIPATED
OUTCOMES

Our innovative supply chain ecosystem will comprise three interconnected components: use-inspired research, economic development, and workforce development.

Our anticipated outcomes include:

  • Establishing working groups for each of the ecosystem’s seven Communities of Practice (CoPs)
  • Identifying and conducting activities for six pilot use-inspired projects
  • Developing policies and expectations for technology transfer and commercialization
  • Developing workforce requirements for each CoP
  • Developing a structure for the National (workforce) Training Center (NTC)
  • Expanding our partners list along the CoPs
  • Holding two annual community and industry workshops in our tri-state area to enhance visibility and engage partners
  • Holding two annual stakeholder conferences
